SAFETY and TRAINING
All courses abide with current OSHA safety standards.
All instructors are OSHA Safety Certified.
SNOWCAT TRAINING
Our Basic Safety Training Course is designed to teach operators Snowcat safety training for their particular Snowcat including proper operating procedures, maintenance and emergency response.
We suggest combining this course with Avalanche 1 Training (see button below).
The AIARE Avalanche Rescue course is a one day course designed to enhance participants skills in companion rescue within an avalanche scenario.
Our Advanced Safety Training Course is designed to teach operators the fundamentals of Snowcat operating in an advanced setting using skills obtained by seasoned groomers, avalanche specialists and, mountain professionals. We want to give you all the tools for the trade of Snowcatting. This course covers (but isn’t limited to) steep accents and descents, winching, track placement, road building, operating in dangerous conditions, early/late season precautions, snow recovery, and environmental protection.
Requirements for the Advanced Course
Must complete our Basic Safety Training Course as well as Avalanche 1 Training.
Survival Training Course 1
Most Snowcat operators are alone in their daily endeavor to circumvent the mountain. Our survival course is designed to teach Snowcat operators how to survive extreme weather conditions in the back country in case of machine failure or break down. This course also covers search and rescue procedures.
